Robot-Assisted Cold and Warm Incremental Sheet Forming of Aluminum Alloy 6061: A Comparative Study

چکیده
Incremental sheet forming (ISF) requires no or partial dies for metal fabrication and is widely used small batch production. In this process, necking either suppressed delayed due to the localized nature of tool–sheet contact; hence, more strains than conventional stamping deep drawing are obtained. present study, two variations ISF, namely cold ISF (CISF) warm (WISF), compared. First, FEA modeling carried out on ABAQUS reach forces involved in process. It found that WISF reduces forces. The temperature maintained at 180 °C. Following simulation analysis, tests out. force 55.77% less CISF. part fabricated by CISF slightly substantial WISF; however, depth can be achieved WISF. There a uniform thickness distribution case However, surface quality product inferior observed there reduced force, increased formability, better strain compared post-processing heat treatment polishing formed parts required restore their mechanical properties.

The Effects of Forming Parameters on the Single Point Incremental Forming of 1050 Aluminum Alloy Sheet
The single point incremental forming (SPIF) is one of the dieless forming processes which is widely used in the sheet metal forming. The correct selection of the SPIF parameters influences the formability and quality of the product. In the present study, the Gurson-Tvergaard Needleman (GTN) damage model was used for the fracture prediction in the numerical simulation of the SPIF process of alum...
متن کاملExperimental Study on Warm Incremental Tube Forming of AA6063 Aluminum Tubes
Effect of temperature on formability of AA6063 aluminum tubes in incremental forming process was investigated. Experiments are performed on AA6063 aluminum tubes. A spirally moving tool incrementally expands the tube wall. The tube is clamped from both ends while the deformation zone is not in contact with the die. A circumferential heating system is used to heat the tube due to the low formabi...

Lightweight materials have been studied widely at present. Because weight reduction while maintaining functional requirements is one of the major goals in industries in order to save materials, energy and costs, etc. As the lightest structural alloys, magnesium alloys offer great potential to displace the most commonly used materials, because its density is about 2/3 of aluminum and 1/4 of stee...
